About Leman North Dispatches
Leaving Greece to study abroad in 2010, at the very beginning of what would unfold into an unprecedented Greek debt crisis, I ended up in Switzerland, on the northern shore of Lake Leman—better known as Lake Geneva. After spending many years of my adult life studying engineering and mathematics, I grew increasingly disillusioned in developing mathematical models designed to solve yet-to-be-discovered problems of the first world. Several attempts to pivot toward “social work” eventually led me to the ecosystem of international organizations and NGOs, where I now work on improving country access to better health.
